Discovering Jesus
Practicing His Way
Making Him Known

We want to be a church where everyone is personally committed to:

‘Discovering Jesus'

The vision of and for the church is quite simply Jesus. ‘Obsessively, dangerously, undeniably Jesus.’ His Gospel is the cornerstone upon which this church is established. Jesus is:

…the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.'
(Col 1: 18)

'Practicing His Way'

Through the gospel Jesus invites us to live with him. 'If we want to experience the life of Jesus, then we need to adopt the lifestyle of Jesus.' Jesus extends His invitation to each of us:

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
(Matt 11: 28 – 30)

'Making Him Known'

We want to make Jesus known to our family, friends and neighbours, showing His love to others through what we say and how we live. Jesus commands us to:

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’
(Matt 28: 19)

Mission Statement

Our mission, flowing from this statement – helps us discover the purposes of the church, and our roles within them. We seek to be a church that prioritizes and embodies:

• Worship: growing in love for Jesus.
• Fellowship: growing in love for one another.
• Discipleship: growing more like Jesus.
• Ministry: serving in the church.
• Mission: sharing the gospel in the world.

Growing Younger

A subsection of this mission can be found in the expression Growing Younger:

The Lord’s call to place special emphasis on the making and growing of young disciples of Jesus through family focused ministry.
